The AgreenSkills 6th and final annual meeting took place in Brussels (Musée de la Bande Dessinée), from 9 to 11 April 2019. Around 55 AgreenSkills fellows and alumni attended this annual major event that was the last organized by the AgreenSkills+ programme until its closure, May 5, 2019.
As usual, during this meeting the last fellows who have never presented their scientific backgrounds, career tracks and projects were invited to give a speed presentation form and to discuss their research projects during poster sessions. Six Alumni were also invited to present testimonies to illustrate how the international mobility impacted their scientific career track, either in a classical academic perspective or in private sector. Finally, being the last one, this meeting was also an opportunity to listen selected Fellows and Alumni who presented scientific reports and the results they got during their fellowship.
With their primary focus on scientific presentations and discussion, this AgreenSkills Annual Meeting was also an opportunity to attend scientific conferences from renowned researchers on cutting edge research approaches and topics. Through the diversity and depth of the topics covered, these conferences reflect the spirit of the AgreenSkills and AgreenSkills+ programmes, based on a passion for research challenges and scientific curiosity.
As usual, a full day session was devoted to research practices in relation with Open Science and publication strategies, with much attention paid on integrity Ethical issues. Furthermore, a special session was organized about "Trust in Science”, to make link between basic and applied sciences and open science. This issue was addressed through several key talks and sequences of questions & answers that were very much appreciated by the audience.
The researchers mobility perspectives in Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions were also described in the perspective of Horizon Europe.
